Memorandum of Understanding Between the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Educational Center for Research and Development

The National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Educational Center for Research and Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Commission’s headquarters on July 2, 2025, to cooperate in multiple areas of mutual interest in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The memorandum aims to establish a partnership between the two parties to promote a culture of integrity and knowledge related to corruption prevention and combat, through enhancing scientific collaboration, training and developing specialized human capacities, improving curricula, programs, and educational materials, encouraging relevant research, supporting extracurricular activities, and organizing competitions.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Commission by its President, Judge Claude Karam, in the presence of members Mr. Fawaz Kabara, Judge Therese Allawi, Dr. Ali Badran, Dr. Kleib Kleib, and Dr. Joe Maalouf. On behalf of the Center, it was signed by its President, Professor Hiam Issa, accompanied by a delegation including Dr. Elie Mikhail, Dr. Antoine Kattar, Mr. Akram Sabeq, and Dr. Jihad Saliba. Mutual statements emphasized the importance of translating the memorandum into practical initiatives that build capacities and reinforce the concept of combating and eradicating corruption in Lebanon.

Both parties will cooperate in implementing the memorandum in coordination with regional and international organizations when needed, through exchanging expertise and information, providing specialized experts and technicians, organizing conferences, seminars, workshops, and training sessions, as well as any other means agreed upon by both sides.
