A Bilateral Exchange between the President of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, Judge Claude Karam, and Mrs. Alexandra Rogakou, Governor of the National Transparency Authority in Greece.

The President of Lebanon’s National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), Judge Claude Karam, conducted an official meeting with Mrs. Alexandra Rogakou, Governor of the National Transparency Authority (NTA), as part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation in the fight against corruption. Judge Karam was received at the NTA’s central premises, where he held a bilateral meeting with Mrs. Alexandra Rogakou, in the presence of Mr. George Kasaps, the Director of International Relations at the National Transparency Authority. The meeting took place in Athens, Greece on November 10, 2025 following coordination between both institutions where the latter focused on; Exchanging experiences and best practices on the declaration of assets, interests and whistleblower protection. Exploring the possibility of future cooperation between the NACC and the NTA, particularly in institutional development and oversight practices. Considering the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the NACC and the NTA. The meeting represents a significant step in enhancing cooperation between Lebanon and Greece in the field of anti-corruption. It reaffirms the NACC’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with national and international stakeholders to promote transparency, accountability, and effective anti-corruption practices. The NACC expresses its appreciation to the NTA of Greece for its cooperation and warm reception during this official visit.

Participation in the Third Arab Forum on Enhancing Transparency and Combating Corruption in the Digital Age held in Cairo

The President of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, Judge Claude Karam, took part in the Third Arab Forum on Enhancing Transparency and Combating Corruption in the Digital Age, which was held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on October 22 and 23, 2025. The event brought together a distinguished group of heads of commissions, officials, experts, and specialists from various countries. During the first day of the forum, Judge Karam delivered a speech addressing the impact of digital transformation in Lebanon in light of the relevant laws. He emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise among regional and international bodies in support of institutional development and capacity building efforts. Judge Karam also tackled the key challenges facing anti-corruption efforts amid rapid legal and technological developments, stressing the need for collective action to develop sustainable solutions that respond to emerging challenges and reinforce transparency and the fight against corruption. On the following day, the President of the Commission moderated one of the forum’s sessions titled “Smart Governance,” leading an engaging discussion among participants. The session was marked by insightful exchanges and constructive contributions that added depth to the forum’s overarching themes. As the forum concluded, Judge Karam affirmed that such gatherings serve as an effective platform for exchanging perspectives and experiences, and for strengthening cooperation among various bodies and agencies at both the regional and international levels.

The National Anti-Corruption Commission, in collaboration with the Beirut Bar Association, organized a legal seminar titled “The Implementation of the New Law on Assets and Interests Declarations and the Punishment of Illicit Enrichment.” The event took place in the Grand Lecture Hall at the Beirut Bar Association’s headquarters on Thursday, October 9, 2025. The function was attended by a number of trainee and practicing lawyers. This initiative comes as part of the ongoing coordination between the two aforementioned parties, and within the framework of the cooperation between the Commission and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) through the “Anti-Corruption for Trust in Lebanon” project, implemented with the support of the European Union and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark. The seminar aimed to shed light on the new illicit enrichment law, highlighting key aspects related to the practical application of its provisions. It also featured the analysis of real-life examples and the examination of both theoretical and field cases, thereby strengthening participants’ understanding of the practical framework of the law and their ability to address the challenges that may be encountered at its implementation phase. Delivered by a group of specialists in the legal field, the seminar started with remarks from Commission member Judge Thérèse Alawi, followed by presentations from lawyer and former MP Ghassan Moukheiber, and Dr. Tillmann Hoppe, who brings extensive academic and professional expertise in law, judiciary, anti-corruption, and parliamentary work. The event drew active participation and lively discussions that made the session engaging and insightful. As the seminar concluded, the Commission and the Beirut Bar Association expressed their commitment to continuing joint cooperation in organizing seminars and workshops aimed at developing lawyers’ competencies and raising the level of professional performance in the legal sector.

The Commission organizes the first workshop for public prosecutors and investigative judges

The National Anti-Corruption Commission organized a workshop for public prosecutors and investigative judges on the implementation of the new illicit enrichment law, on October 7, 2025, at the Sofitel Le Gabriel Hotel in Achrafieh – Beirut. The workshop comes as part of the ongoing coordination between the National Anti-Corruption Commission, the High Judicial Council, and the Office of the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, and within the framework of the cooperation between the Commission and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) through the “Anti-Corruption for Trust in Lebanon” project, implemented with the support of the European Union and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark. The workshop aimed to shed light on the new illicit enrichment law by outlining key elements related to the practical application of its provisions. Through a series of sessions, it also examined real-life examples as well as theoretical and field cases, which enhanced the participating judges’ general understanding of the law’s practical framework and their ability to address the challenges it presents across various levels of practice. Dr. Tillmann Hoppe, who brings extensive academic and professional expertise in the fields of law, judiciary, anti-corruption, and parliamentary work, delivered a comprehensive presentation drawing from his wide-ranging knowledge and experience. Dr. Hoppe holds a PhD in law from Humboldt University of Berlin, in addition to postgraduate studies at the Universities of Oxford, Chicago-Kent, and Lyon. He has also held prominent positions as a judge, legal advisor to the German government and parliament, and long-term consultant to the Council of Europe on anti-corruption projects. The workshop concluded with an exchange of views among participants, who emphasized the importance of carrying on this type of initiatives that contribute to skill development and the enhancement of professional expertise in this field, expressing their gratitude to the Commission for organizing the event.

Certificate Award Ceremony for the First Cohort of Volunteers with the Commission under its Youth Volunteering Program

The National Anti-Corruption Commission organized a ceremony to distribute participation certificates to the volunteers of the Youth Volunteering Program (first cohort), launched by the Commission with the support of the United Nations Development Programme, the European Union, and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark, in recognition of their efforts and work within the Commission. In his speech, Commission President Judge Claude Karam commended the volunteers for dedicating their time and efforts to successfully supporting activities and tasks across the Commission’s various directorates. He stressed that this experience embodies a spirit of social responsibility while reinforcing the values of cooperation and sense of belonging. This program is part of the joint efforts of the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the United Nations Development Programme to foster a culture of volunteerism among youth, as volunteer work is considered a cornerstone of community development, given its direct role in supporting national initiatives, encouraging positive youth engagement in public service, and promoting a culture of integrity and anti-corruption. The ceremony concluded by underscoring the importance of sustaining such volunteer programs for their positive impact on society, whether by empowering youth and honing their skills, supporting the Commission in activating its various directorates, or fostering a sense of active citizenship among them.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon Submits his Assets and Interests Declaration

He then submitted his assets and interests’ declaration on the occasion of his appointment as Governor of the Central Bank.

The Commission Brings Together a Group of Journalists for a Roundtable in Partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ)

As part of ongoing support to strengthen the role of the National Anti-Corruption Commission as an independent oversight body, Germany continues to support the Commission, particularly in enhancing the Right to Access Information, implementing the Whistleblower Protection Law, and promoting integrity principles within public institutions. In this context, the Commission, in collaboration with its partners from the German Embassy and a group of journalists from various local media outlets, organized a roundtable on Thursday, July 3. The discussions emphasized the vital role of independent media in promoting transparency and the duty of public administrations to proactively disclose information. The Commission reiterates its appreciation for this constructive partnership with the German side, which contributes to the reform process and the promotion of good governance in Lebanon. The Commission also underscores that sustainable recovery and rebuilding trust between citizens and the state can only be achieved through strengthened transparency and accountability, with the media serving as a key and effective partner in this mission.

Memorandum of Understanding Between the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Educational Center for Research and Development

The National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Educational Center for Research and Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Commission’s headquarters on July 2, 2025, to cooperate in multiple areas of mutual interest in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The memorandum aims to establish a partnership between the two parties to promote a culture of integrity and knowledge related to corruption prevention and combat, through enhancing scientific collaboration, training and developing specialized human capacities, improving curricula, programs, and educational materials, encouraging relevant research, supporting extracurricular activities, and organizing competitions. The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Commission by its President, Judge Claude Karam, in the presence of members Mr. Fawaz Kabara, Judge Therese Allawi, Dr. Ali Badran, Dr. Kleib Kleib, and Dr. Joe Maalouf. On behalf of the Center, it was signed by its President, Professor Hiam Issa, accompanied by a delegation including Dr. Elie Mikhail, Dr. Antoine Kattar, Mr. Akram Sabeq, and Dr. Jihad Saliba. Mutual statements emphasized the importance of translating the memorandum into practical initiatives that build capacities and reinforce the concept of combating and eradicating corruption in Lebanon. Both parties will cooperate in implementing the memorandum in coordination with regional and international organizations when needed, through exchanging expertise and information, providing specialized experts and technicians, organizing conferences, seminars, workshops, and training sessions, as well as any other means agreed upon by both sides.

The Commission Participates in the Regional Meeting on Combating Corruption and Promoting Integrity

The Commission, represented by Dr. Kleib Kleib, participated in the high-level regional meeting titled “Combating Corruption and Promoting Integrity in Arab Countries: Progress Achieved and Priorities for the Next Phase,” held in Amman, Jordan, on June 29. The meeting saw broad participation from key stakeholders, education leaders, policymakers, and oversight bodies from across the region. The meeting provided an important platform to review progress in combating corruption and promoting integrity principles in Arab countries, discuss current challenges, and develop a roadmap for the next phase to strengthen good governance and institutional transparency across sectors. During the event, the Commission was honored with a recognition plaque in appreciation of its prominent role and fruitful partnership within this regional project, which contributed to achieving the project’s objectives and enhancing collaborative work among stakeholders. In his remarks, Dr. Kleib Kleib emphasized the importance of exchanging regional experiences in integrity and governance, highlighting the Commission’s commitment to continue supporting initiatives aimed at promoting transparency and building strong institutions based on accountability and fairness.

The workshop included several panel discussions focused on promoting transparency and integrity in the education sector. Dr. Kleib contributed actively to the discussions, addressing the challenges and proposing potential solutions to enhance integrity in this vital sector.

The Beirut and Tripoli Bar Associations Explore Ways of Cooperation with the National Anti-Corruption Commission

The Presidents of the Beirut and Tripoli Bar Associations, Fadi Masri and Sami Al-Hassan, accompanied by the Chair of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Beirut Bar Association, Lawyer Joseph Nahra, visited the headquarters of the National Anti-Corruption Commission and held a meeting with its President, Judge Claude Karam. During the meeting, the Bar Association presidents were briefed by Judge Karam on the Commission’s work and emphasized the importance of its role in combating corruption, given its impact on Lebanon’s reputation and investment climate. An agreement was reached to foster cooperation between the Bar Associations and the Commission, leveraging the expertise and resources of the associations as well as the professional experience of lawyers to support the Commission’s mission, reinforcing the national and rights-based role of the Bar Associations. Later, members of the Commission joined the meeting to continue discussions on mechanisms for future collaboration.

Specialized Training for the Commission on Detecting Illicit Enrichment in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

The National Anti-Corruption Commission, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), organized a specialized training on strengthening its capacity to detect and prevent illicit enrichment. The five-day course was held between 11 and 17 June, with joint funding from the European Union and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark. The course was delivered by Dr. Tillman Hoppe, a UNDP recognized expert on the topic of illicit enrichment, who presented key concepts and modern approaches to identifying cases of illicit enrichment, in addition to internationally recognized tools and techniques in this field. The training covered several main topics, including: Auditing assets and interests declarations Investigating illicit enrichment Operational procedures and electronic systems International best practices Practical aspects and applications through case studies and interactive exercises This training constitutes the first phase of a series of specialized courses, to be followed by additional stages aimed at deepening knowledge and enhancing both institutional and individual capacities in combating corruption and detecting illicit enrichment. The course falls within the framework of the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s efforts to strengthen its capacities and expertise in the fight against corruption, and to build qualified cadres capable of making an effective contribution to promoting the principles of transparency and accountability.

The Commission Participates in a Regional Training on Integrating Digital Technologies into Anti-Corruption Policies

The National Anti-Corruption Commission participated in a regional Training of Trainers course titled “Integrating Digital Technologies into Anti-Corruption Policies and Programs”, held in Amman, Jordan, from June 1–2, 2025, through Commission Member Dr. Ali Badran.   The course was organized by the Innovation and Training Centre of the Jordanian Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the support of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).   Over the two-day program, participants covered advanced topics, including artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, and professional training tools, alongside interactive activities and practical demonstrations that allowed participants to apply the skills acquired.   The course concluded with a comprehensive evaluation, in which all participants emphasized the added value of the training experience and its positive impact on enhancing their capabilities in digital transformation and anti-corruption efforts.

Memorandum of Understanding Between the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Lebanese American University

The Lebanese American University (LAU) and the National Anti-Corruption Commission signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in multiple areas of mutual interest, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The memorandum aims to establish a partnership to promote a culture of integrity and knowledge related to the prevention and fight against corruption, through enhancing academic collaboration, training and developing specialized human capacities, improving curricula, programs, and educational materials, encouraging relevant research, supporting extracurricular activities and competitions, and facilitating the creation and activation of student integrity clubs and networks. The signing ceremony was attended by the Commission’s President, Judge Claude Karam, and his team, as well as LAU President Dr. Shouqi T. Abdullah and a university delegation. The ceremony featured an exchange of speeches in the form of a dialogue. Judge Karam began by congratulating President Abdullah on his new position and praising his expertise and knowledge. He then explained the role of the National Anti-Corruption Commission in combating corruption, coordinating with judicial authorities and disciplinary councils, and its powers limited to the public sector, drawing parallels with similar bodies worldwide, particularly in France. President Karam thanked LAU for opening avenues of cooperation as a leading higher education institution in Lebanon and the Middle East, expressing hope that the memorandum would translate into practical initiatives that build capacities and reinforce the concept of combating and eradicating corruption in Lebanon. In his remarks, President Abdullah emphasized the seriousness of corruption and the importance of the Commission in addressing this issue. He pledged the university’s expertise and resources to support the Commission in advancing Lebanon from its current challenging situation, highlighting the role of LAU in providing experts and volunteers to assist in anti-corruption efforts and support reform initiatives both morally and practically. The two parties will collaborate in implementing the memorandum in coordination with regional and international organizations as needed, particularly the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), through the exchange of expertise and information, provision of specialized experts and technicians, organization of conferences, seminars, workshops, and training sessions, as well as any other mutually agreed-upon means.

The National Anti-Corruption Commission and the American University of Beirut Sign an Agreement to Promote Integrity Education and Institutional Reform

In a significant step toward promoting a transparent and accountable public sector in Lebanon, the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the American University of Beirut (AUB), through the University’s Government Engagement Platform, signed a strategic partnership agreement via a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding. The signing ceremony was held at the headquarters of the National Anti-Corruption Commission in Beirut, bringing together representatives from both the Commission and the University to reaffirm their joint commitment to embedding anti-corruption principles at the core of education, governance, and public engagement. The agreement reflects the shared commitment of AUB and the Commission to collaborate on a wide range of initiatives aimed at generating knowledge, building sustainable capacities, and empowering youth. Through this Memorandum of Understanding, both parties join efforts to promote a culture of integrity, prevent corruption, and contribute to Lebanon’s long-term institutional resilience. The Commission was represented at the ceremony by its President, Judge Claude Karam; Vice President Dr. Fawaz Kabbara; Judge Therese Allawi; Dr. Ali Badran; Dr. Joe Maalouf; and Dr. Kleib Kleib. Leading the AUB delegation were President Dr. Fadlo Khoury, Provost Dr. Zahir Daou, Co-Chairs of the University Government Engagement Platform Dr. Fadi Jerdali and Dr. Joseph Bahout, and Platform Advocacy and Engagement Officer Zeina Sleem. Under the terms of the agreement, the Commission and AUB will work together to strengthen academic and policy approaches to combating corruption. This includes jointly developing educational content, particularly designing university programs on anti-corruption and transparency to be integrated into undergraduate and graduate curricula. Beyond the classroom, the MoU envisions youth-led networks that promote civic responsibility and ethical leadership. The partnership will also facilitate the organization of national conferences, workshops, and expert training sessions. Special emphasis will be placed on research collaboration, particularly in updating Lebanon’s National Anti-Corruption Strategy over the next five years. The parties plan to leverage the University’s academic centers and faculties alongside the Commission’s institutional expertise to ensure the production of high-quality research on anti-corruption practices. Additionally, the MoU allows AUB students to participate in internships or project-based learning programs within the Commission, providing them with direct exposure to public sector procedures and ethical governance challenges. At the conclusion of the ceremony, President Karam welcomed Dr. Fadlo Khoury and the accompanying delegation, highlighting the importance of the Commission’s collaboration with all sectors, beginning with educational institutions, particularly AUB. President Khoury, in turn, affirmed AUB’s support for the Commission’s mission to combat corruption, promote a culture of integrity and transparency, and ultimately contribute to building a better Lebanon.

Ministers in Prime Minister Nawaf Salam’s Government Submit their Assets and Interests Declarations to the Commission

The ministers in Prime Minister Nawaf Salam’s government, formed on February 8, 2025, visited the National Anti-Corruption Commission at its headquarters in Verdun at different times between February 9 and April 8, 2025, where they met with Commission President Judge Claude Karam and its members. They submitted their assets and interests’ declarations upon assuming their roles as new ministers. With this, all ministers in the new government complied with the legally mandated two-month deadline from the date of appointment for submitting their declarations.

The Commission Participates in the 2025 World Bank Global Forum

The National Anti-Corruption Commission of Lebanon, represented by its President Judge Claude Karam and Commission Member Dr. Joe Maalouf, participated in the 2025 World Bank Global Forum, held on April 8–9 at the Bank’s headquarters in Washington, under the theme “International Partnerships to Combat Corruption.” Concurrently with the forum, the delegation held several meetings with participating delegations to exchange views and experiences, agreeing to continue ongoing communication. The delegation also visited the International Monetary Fund headquarters and held an extensive meeting with several officials, during which they presented the Commission’s mandate, achievements, challenges, and the priorities it seeks to accomplish in the foreseeable future. President Karam then continued meetings with officials from the U.S. Department of State and the Treasury Department, accompanied by Chargé d’Affaires at the Lebanese Embassy in Washington, Wael Hashim, and Secretary Rawy Hamdan. He also met with members of the Lebanese community at the embassy, presenting the Commission’s powers and accomplishments and engaging in a discussion that included questions and constructive feedback. At the conclusion of the meeting, attendees expressed their willingness to leverage their connections with U.S. officials to support the Commission in fulfilling its mandate effectively. Lebanon was also represented by Mr. Walid Shaar from the Ministry of Finance.   The workshop brought together representatives from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, Jordan, Mauritania, Bahrain, Libya, Djibouti, Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco. Some delegations included multiple participants from various institutions such as Ministries of Finance, Customs authorities, public procurement institutions, and anti-corruption and integrity agencies.   Over four days, participants discussed and examined numerous critical topics and challenges in combating corruption, with a particular focus on corruption detection.   The workshop concluded with remarks from the organizers and instructors, followed by contributions from participants who praised the positive atmosphere, openness, collaboration between delegations, and the valuable information shared. The event ended with an evaluation of the workshop and instructors, and participants were formally farewelled.   Notably, Commission members held bilateral meetings on the sidelines with representatives of similar agencies to explore ways to strengthen inter-agency cooperation.

The Commission Participates in a Workshop on Developing Transparency Indicators for Municipal Work

The National Anti-Corruption Commission responded to an invitation from Transparency International – Lebanon (No Corruption) to participate in a specialized workshop on developing transparency indicators for municipal work, held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Habtoor City Hotel in Beirut, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Brigadier General Ahmed Hajar.   The workshop included several specialized discussion sessions addressing indicators derived from relevant anti-corruption laws, the public procurement law, as well as decrees and legislation regulating municipal work.   The Commission participated in the first session, dedicated to discussing laws related to combating corruption, through Vice President Dr. Fawaz Kabbara and Commission Member Dr. Ali Badran. They presented interventions covering the core topics, discussed the importance of enhancing transparency in local administrations, and engaged with participants through extensive consultations with the audience.   The Commission’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting national initiatives aimed at promoting transparency and consolidating principles of good governance in public administration, particularly within the municipal sector.

Meeting with the President of the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants

The President of the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants, Elie Abboud, accompanied by Board Member Khalil Zaidan and Secretary General Roger Lotfi, visited the President of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, Judge Claude Karam, with Commission Member Dr. Ali Badran also in attendance. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on joint efforts to enhance cooperation and integration in combating corruption in Lebanon. The Association offered its resources to support the Commission, noting that nearly two thousand certified accountants are engaged in auditing, many specializing in forensic auditing, and are ready to assist in any tasks assigned to the Commission within its annual audit program. Following the meeting, Abboud announced that the Association is preparing a diploma program for its members specializing in forensic auditing, in collaboration with a leading U.S.-based professional body, with a duration of forty hours. Both parties agreed to maintain communication and work toward signing a protocol to establish a joint roadmap serving the public interest.

Training as Part of the Youth Volunteering Program at the National Anti-Corruption Commission

As part of its collaboration with the “Afḍal” Initiative – the Advocacy Force for Development and Anti-Corruption in Lebanon, affiliated with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and jointly supported by the European Union and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark – the National Anti-Corruption Commission conducted a training session on February 27 for a group of 25 applicants to its Youth Volunteering Program.   During the training, which included participation from UNDP experts, candidates were introduced to the Commission’s mandate as well as Lebanon’s anti-corruption laws.   As a result of this training, 10 new volunteers were selected to join the Youth Volunteering Program, contributing to various tasks across the Commission’s departments.

The President of the Republic Submits His Assets and Interests Declaration

President of the Republic Joseph Aoun visited the National Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters on the morning of Tuesday, February 25, where he submitted his assets and interests’ declaration to Commission President Judge Claude Karam, in the presence of the Commission’s members. This was in accordance with The Law on Fighting Corruption in the Public Sector and the Establishment of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, Law No. 175/2020.

Conference in Beirut on the “Right of Access to Information Law”: Showcasing Achievements, Challenges, and Prospects for Advancement

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the implementation of the Right of Access to Information Law, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and joint funding from the European Union and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark, organized a conference entitled “The Right to Access Information Law: Achievements, Challenges, and Prospects for Advancement.” The event took place on Thursday, 3 April 2025, at UNESCO Palace in Beirut. His Excellency Minister of Justice Adel Nassar represented both His Excellency the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, and His Excellency the Prime Minister, Judge Nawaf Salam, while MP Mohammad Khawaja represented Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri. The conference gathered a wide audience of political, judicial, diplomatic, and academic figures, including ministers, parliamentarians, judges, ambassadors, directors-general, lawyers, and university students, underscoring the importance of the event at both the national and professional levels. The conference opened with remarks by Judge Claude Karam, President of the NACC, and from international partners Ms. Alessandra Viezzer, Head of Cooperation at the European Union Delegation to Lebanon, and Ms. Blerta Aliko, Resident Representative of UNDP Lebanon. The speakers emphasized the value of the ongoing partnership and its pivotal role in advancing transparency and good governance initiatives. A panel discussion followed, featuring leading experts and practitioners in the field of access to information, including Judge Therese Alawi, member of the Commission. The discussion addressed the current state of implementation of the law and presented the key findings of the first national report issued by the NACC on the level of compliance of national and local public administrations with the Law, officially launched during the conference. This conference marked an important milestone in Lebanon’s path toward enhanced transparency and accountability, serving as a platform for exchanging experiences and discussing challenges, with a view to developing more effective mechanisms for implementing the Right of Access to Information Law.
