Meeting with the President of the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants

Monday 3 March 2025

The President of the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants, Elie Abboud, accompanied by Board Member Khalil Zaidan and Secretary General Roger Lotfi, visited the President of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, Judge Claude Karam, with Commission Member Dr. Ali Badran also in attendance.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on joint efforts to enhance cooperation and integration in combating corruption in Lebanon. The Association offered its resources to support the Commission, noting that nearly two thousand certified accountants are engaged in auditing, many specializing in forensic auditing, and are ready to assist in any tasks assigned to the Commission within its annual audit program.

Following the meeting, Abboud announced that the Association is preparing a diploma program for its members specializing in forensic auditing, in collaboration with a leading U.S.-based professional body, with a duration of forty hours.

Both parties agreed to maintain communication and work toward signing a protocol to establish a joint roadmap serving the public interest.
