Thursday 27 March 2025

The National Anti-Corruption Commission responded to an invitation from Transparency International – Lebanon (No Corruption) to participate in a specialized workshop on developing transparency indicators for municipal work, held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Habtoor City Hotel in Beirut, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Brigadier General Ahmed Hajar.

The workshop included several specialized discussion sessions addressing indicators derived from relevant anti-corruption laws, the public procurement law, as well as decrees and legislation regulating municipal work.

The Commission participated in the first session, dedicated to discussing laws related to combating corruption, through Vice President Dr. Fawaz Kabbara and Commission Member Dr. Ali Badran. They presented interventions covering the core topics, discussed the importance of enhancing transparency in local administrations, and engaged with participants through extensive consultations with the audience.

The Commission’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting national initiatives aimed at promoting transparency and consolidating principles of good governance in public administration, particularly within the municipal sector.
