Empowering Youth: National Anti-Corruption Commission Holds Workshop for Student Anti-Corruption Competition
13 Jan 2026
Within the framework of its ongoing efforts to promote a culture of integrity and to support youth engagement in combating corruption, the National Anti-Corruption Commission hosted, at its headquarters in Beirut on 13 January 2026, a practical workshop held as part of a student competition organized by the Institute for Civic Engagement and Political Participation at the Lebanese American University (LAU), in cooperation with Rebound.
This workshop forms part of the competition entitled “Breaking the Cycle: Youth Leading the Anti-Corruption Movement in Lebanon,” which aims to empower students and young people to develop initiatives and innovative ideas that contribute to strengthening transparency, accountability, and good governance.
During the workshop, seven student teams presented their projects before a panel of judges and experts comprising, in addition to members of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, Judge Rana Akkoum, Dr. Haitham Yassine, representatives of Rebound, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Ministry of State for Administrative Reform (OMSAR).
The participating teams received constructive technical and professional feedback aimed at improving the quality of their projects, clarifying their messages, and enhancing their capacity to generate a tangible and positive impact in the field of combating corruption in Lebanon.
Through this participation, the National Anti-Corruption Commission reaffirms the importance of partnership with academic institutions and civil society organizations, as well as the pivotal role of youth in supporting the reform process and promoting the values of integrity and transparency.
The competition is scheduled to continue during the forthcoming period and will conclude with an award ceremony in the month of May.
