Workshop on the Electronic Declaration System
Tuesday 9 June 2026
As part of the development of the Electronic Financial Disclosure and Interests Declaration System, the National Anti-Corruption Commission, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and with the support of the European Union, held a consultative workshop on 19 June 2026 at the Commission’s headquarters.
The workshop brought together representatives from judicial and oversight bodies, ministries, public institutions, and independent experts to exchange knowledge and gather the technical and procedural requirements needed for the development of the system.
The session was opened by the President of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, Judge Claude Karam, who welcomed the participants and thanked them for their valuable contributions. He highlighted the importance of cooperation and coordination among all relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful development of the electronic system. He also underlined its key role in promoting transparency, strengthening good governance, and supporting the implementation of the law.
The discussions provided an opportunity for participants to share their expertise and perspectives, resulting in a number of practical recommendations that will help inform the next stages of the system’s development.
The workshop also contributed to strengthening coordination among the participating institutions, fostering a common understanding of their respective roles and responsibilities, and drawing on existing experience and lessons learned. These outcomes will support the development of a clear roadmap for an effective, practical, and sustainable system.
Once operational, the electronic system will facilitate the submission of financial disclosure and interests’ declarations and strengthen the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s capacity to monitor compliance with the law, review and verify declarations, and identify potential indicators of illicit enrichment, where appropriate. By enhancing these processes, the system will support efforts to prevent corruption, promote integrity, transparency and accountability, and protect public resources.
