Judge Claude Karam’s Participation in the Second Global Conference on Harnessing Data to Improve Corruption Measurement

The President of the Commission, Judge Claude Karam, participated in the Second Global Conference on Harnessing Data to Improve Corruption Measurement, held in New York City from 2 to 4 December 2025. The conference was organized in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA). Judge Karam participated in the main sessions of the conference as a representative of the Lebanese Republic, during which he presented, in his address, the Commission’s vision on the conference theme and its efforts to enhance international cooperation and develop joint initiatives, emphasizing the importance of continuing to work with partners to exchange expertise and build capacities.
Concurrently with the conference, the President of the Commission held a series of productive bilateral meetings with a number of senior international officials and representatives of authorities and organizations, including:
These meetings focused on strengthening joint cooperation, exploring future initiatives, and reviewing opportunities to develop programmes of mutual interest.. In this context, the President of the Commission reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to enhancing its international relations in support of its strategic objectives. Judge Karam also visited the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations in New York, where he met with the mission’s diplomats, Ms. Samah Dabbouk and Mr. Mohammad Ali Al-Jardali. The discussions highlighted the mission’s key efforts in supporting the State’s positions within the international organization, and examined mechanisms to enhance coordination between the Commission and the Mission on priority issues. The President of the Commission expressed his appreciation for the Mission’s engagement and continued support.
