Participation in the Workshop on Detecting Corruption and Overcoming Challenges

Monday 7 April 2025

The National Anti-Corruption Commission participated in a workshop held in Kuwait City from April 7–10, 2025, titled “Detecting Corruption: How to Overcome Challenges,” organized by the IMF Regional Center. The Commission was represented by Vice President Mr. Fawaz Kabbara and Commission Member Dr. Kleib Kleib. Lebanon was also represented by Mr. Walid Shaar from the Ministry of Finance.

The workshop brought together representatives from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, Jordan, Mauritania, Bahrain, Libya, Djibouti, Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco. Some delegations included multiple participants from various institutions such as Ministries of Finance, Customs authorities, public procurement institutions, and anti-corruption and integrity agencies.

Over four days, participants discussed and examined numerous critical topics and challenges in combating corruption, with a particular focus on corruption detection.

The workshop concluded with remarks from the organizers and instructors, followed by contributions from participants who praised the positive atmosphere, openness, collaboration between delegations, and the valuable information shared. The event ended with an evaluation of the workshop and instructors, and participants were formally farewelled.

Notably, Commission members held bilateral meetings on the sidelines with representatives of similar agencies to explore ways to strengthen inter-agency cooperation.
