Wednesday 11 June 2025

The National Anti-Corruption Commission, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), organized a specialized training on strengthening its capacity to detect and prevent illicit enrichment. The five-day course was held between 11 and 17 June, with joint funding from the European Union and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark.

The course was delivered by Dr. Tillman Hoppe, a UNDP recognized expert on the topic of illicit enrichment, who presented key concepts and modern approaches to identifying cases of illicit enrichment, in addition to internationally recognized tools and techniques in this field. The training covered several main topics, including:

  • Auditing assets and interests declarations
  • Investigating illicit enrichment
  • Operational procedures and electronic systems
  • International best practices
  • Practical aspects and applications through case studies and interactive exercises

This training constitutes the first phase of a series of specialized courses, to be followed by additional stages aimed at deepening knowledge and enhancing both institutional and individual capacities in combating corruption and detecting illicit enrichment.

The course falls within the framework of the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s efforts to strengthen its capacities and expertise in the fight against corruption, and to build qualified cadres capable of making an effective contribution to promoting the principles of transparency and accountability.
